Reclining Bound Angle
Pose or
Baddha Konasana
This posture helps to open and r
elease the hips and pelvis, which houses the sacral chakra. The sacral chakra is known as the seat of our emotions which holds our passions, creative life force energy, and sexual energy or kundalini. It is the center that fires up our creative thoughts and brings th
em into manifestation!
So many of us have tight h
ips from sitting for long periods of time, which constricts the flow of energy. As a society, we also carry or hold-onto everything from our emotions, to our needs and wants, and old patterns. When we open our hips and pelvis, we begin to let go of tension and melt away stagnant energy. This frees ourselves to more expressive, creative, and passionate energy!
How to enter this posture/asana:
- Begin by laying on your back.
- Bring the soles of your feet together and draw your legs up towards your pelvis while resting your legs on the floor.
- Let your knees fall open.
- To create a more supportive posture, you can rest pillows under your knees.
- Close your eyes, breat
he slowly, and allow your hips to melt open!
Here is what the posture should look like:

Are there any yoga practitioners here? Do you have a suggestion for yoga mat?
Restorative yoga, so essential, so underrated.
A pose I love is with a bolster or pillow located just above the hips while lying on your back float the back into a supported supine position. Allow back to arch, shoulders to open and chest to reach to the sky..,, the breath slows, heart opens, blessings flow in.
We spend so much time curled forward over computers, and books, this is an awesome release.
