Every person has an exciting story to share with the world… and yes, that includes YOU.
But most of us lie to ourselves with excuses about why we should do everything but write.
I’m here to help you overcome your excuses with tips from my proven “Number One Book System” blueprint to write, publish and sell your first Kindle book in one weekend.
Stop Telling Yourself Procrastination Lies
Procrastination is one of the top reasons why many people start writing a book but never finish it. And then they tell themselves a lot of lies to justify their complacency.
I’m too exhausted/stressed/tired. There are too many distractions. I have other responsibilities to tend to first. I just don’t have the time anymore.
In the first step, you will systematically overcome your procrastination and reignite your motivation by uncovering your WHY.
You will start by exploring the top five motivating reasons that drive people to write a book, which are:
1. Royalties
2. Personal Branding
3. List Building
4. Empire Building
5. eCommerce Gateway
Which purpose resonates more with you?
It’s important that you understand why you are publishing your book before you get too far down the path, because the decision you make here won’t just keep you motivated…
It will also influence many of the choices you make to move forward as a successful, published author.
Stop Telling Yourself Lies about Your “Chances of Success”
Too often, our self-doubt becomes our biggest roadblock to success – NOT external factors.
We tell ourselves lies like these that prevent us from writing that story we are meant to share with the world:
I have no talent. Fiction offers no value to the world. My life is too boring to provide interesting material. Writing is too hard. What are the chances of succeeding anyway?
Well, there’s actually a simple system to smash through every writer’s self doubt and achieve success.
The proven 8-step process below will show you how to joyfully write a book.
While the process works best for non-fiction, you can still use the index card strategy to lay out plots and characters for fiction books.
So are you ready? Let me show you how you can get started.
Step 1: Follow the Top Authors of Your Subject
Buy and read at least 3 top books on your subject, and read all the blog posts for the last 60 days for each of the top 6 blogs in your market.
Reading the books will give you a sense of the broad, evergreen concepts of your topic…
While reading blogs will give you a sense of what’s new and what’s hot.
The combination will lead to dynamite ideas that will inspire you to write quickly and passionately!
Step 2: Interview at Least 6 Experts
The best method I’ve used when interviewing experts is to ask them what they would charge for an hour of consulting.
Once you have a sense of their hourly rate (which usually is less than you might think), you can then bring up the subject of interviewing them during that hour.
In my experience, once the experts realize what you’re trying to do, they’ll either offer to help you for free or ask to be a part of the book.
Either way, it’s a great way to not only get great content, but also expand your network in a given industry.
Step 3: Compile your Learning
Compile your notes from the interviews, as well as the primary points you learned from reading the books and blogs, all into one file folder.
Step 4: Take 12 Index Cards and Write a Question on Each One
These “questions” will be your chapters.
Don’t number the cards yet. Experiment by moving them around based on the most logical sequence.
Finally, throw out the two weakest cards/chapters.
Now that you have your 10 cards/chapters, it’s time to move on to the next step…
Step 5: Create Sub-Chapter Titles
Get 120 more index cards (12 for each remaining chapter) and write sub-chapter titles on one side and three words on the other side to remind you what you want to say in each chapter.
Review your notes and see if there are any big topics you left out that should be included. Finally, throw out the two weakest cards in each section.
You now have 10 chapter cards an 10 sub-chapter cards for each chapter.
Step 6: Write or Record 250-700 Words for Each Sub-Chapter
I recommend you set an egg timer to keep you on pace, because right now it’s all about speed… you can always go back and edit your work later.
If you choose to use the voice recorder method, I highly recommend you use a dictation software program like Dragon Naturally Speaking, because it’s less expensive than hiring a transcriber.
Step 7: Compile the Sub-Chapters and Chapters
Now you compile and edit your chapters and voila…
You’ve got your book!
Step 8: Become a Successful Author on Kindle
Now that you understand how easy it is to write a book, the next step is to actually publish that book so you can make money from it.
My favorite publishing platform is Amazon Kindle. My “Number One Book System” shows you exactly how you can potentially become a bestselling author in your category on Kindle.
I know it sounds simple, but if you follow this process exactly as we’ve laid it out…
You’ll find that you can create a book in a weekend!

You have ZERO excuses and ALL the resources you need to become a published author right now. So what are you waiting for?
