[1]Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years…

And has come to be recognized within the medical community as an effective tool for such things as lowering blood pressure and reducing stress.

Meditating has the ability to relax the mind, and calm the body.

Learning to mediate regularly is worth the effort because it can help you in so many areas of your life. For example, it’s an extremely effective tool to help you calm your mind to achieve greater success and happiness [1] in your life.

There’s More Than One Way to Meditate…

The word “meditate” usually brings to mind a picture of yourself (or someone else) seated on the floor or ground.

[1]The meditator’s legs are crossed in what appears to be an impossibly uncomfortable position, hands either resting on the lap or in some sort of “prayerful” position.

Many people have tried to meditate this way and have had less than optimal results when it comes to relaxing their mind.

Some people even describe “seated” meditation as a “stressful” experience!

You might have tried it yourself only to discover you can’t get past the “chatter” and thoughts in your mind.

But there’s more than one way to meditate and this technique might be even more effective than “normal”, seated meditation.

Activating Your Body to Relax Your Mind

[1]Meditation isn’t just about sitting still.

At its core, meditation practice is all about shifting focus and one of the best ways to shift focus is to move.

Yoga is a traditional form of moving meditation where focus is shifted to different postures. Buddhists have a meditation practice called “walking meditation.”

In all these examples the meditative process is intended to shift focus away from the stressful clutter in the mind.

You might also try concentrating on your breathing, or the rhythm of your pace as your move – essentially the same thing.

This process can induce a relaxed mind free of stressful and/or negative thoughts.

What is “Meditative Exercise?”

Moving meditation can take place during any repetitive physical activity.

[1]The most common that come to mind are walking, running, and biking but don’t limit yourself to traditional concepts of exercise.

Exercise is simply physical activity. When you look at it from that angle, doing the dishes can become a moving meditation that relaxes your mind!

Pulling weeds, painting the living room, vacuuming, raking leaves, planting flowers, digging a ditch…

Any activity you may consider to be “mindless” and/or repetitive can serve as a means to relax your mind.

Meditation is a valuable skill that can help you awaken your creativity and boost your health [1]. It can even help increase your wealth and create deeper more satisfying relationships.

So can the very unusual “mind trick” that has been used for centuries by some of the world’s most powerful leaders and thousands of people just like you…
